LEGAL

PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated: October 2026

This policy explains what PixQuill (pixquill.com) collects, why, how long it's kept, and what we don't do with it. Using the service means you've read and accepted it.

▸ 1. Data Controller

The data controller for this site is Ding Liang, an individual developer based in China. Privacy requests are handled personally at support@pixquill.com (backup: koboshi1989@gmail.com).

Data protection officer: not applicable. The scale and kind of data involved don't require one, and privacy mail lands in the same inbox as everything else.

▸ 2. Personal Information We Collect

What you give us: your Google account basics when you sign in (name, email, avatar, and the account's internal ID so your login persists), the images, videos and audio you upload, the prompts you write, and any messages you send us for support.

Payment information: transaction amounts and status. We never see or store your full card number. Card data is handled by our payment processor (see Section 5).

What gets collected automatically: usage events that tell us which features work (feature names and numbers, never the text of your prompts), basic log data including the IP address of your latest sign-in, and a login cookie that keeps you signed in.

▸ 3. How We Use Your Information

Each use of your data has a legal basis, and the pairings look like this:

  • Providing and maintaining the service: rendering images and videos, keeping your library, metering credits. Basis: performing our contract with you
  • Billing and payment processing. Basis: performing the contract
  • Customer support. Basis: performing the contract and our legitimate interest in helping users
  • Service notices, such as billing and security alerts. Basis: legitimate interest
  • Security, fraud prevention, and content moderation. Basis: our legitimate interest in running a safe service
  • Product analytics in aggregate. Basis: legitimate interest, or your consent where your law requires it
  • Meeting legal obligations. Basis: legal obligation

▸ 4. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

The login cookie is strictly necessary and can't be switched off; the site doesn't work without it.

We use Google Analytics to measure feature usage in aggregate. Its cookies are analytics cookies, and blocking them in your browser settings won't break the site. How Google handles that data is covered by Google's own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

We don't use advertising or marketing trackers. There are no ads on PixQuill.

▸ 5. Sharing & Disclosure

We don't sell your personal information, including as defined under laws like the CCPA, and there is no advertising on PixQuill.

A short list of processors touches data where the job needs it: Google for sign-in, Cloudflare for hosting and media storage, Volcano Engine and kie.ai for rendering uploads and prompts through AI image and video models (kie.ai routes to providers such as OpenAI, Google, Alibaba, xAI, Black Forest Labs and Ideogram), and Waffo Pancake for payments. Waffo Pancake is PCI-DSS compliant, and your card details never reach our servers. Each processor gets only what its job requires.

If PixQuill is ever part of a merger, acquisition, or sale, data may transfer as part of that deal. You'll be notified in advance, and the protections in this policy continue to apply.

Beyond that, we share data only when the law compels it, or when you've explicitly agreed to it.

▸ 6. Data Security

The service runs on Cloudflare's infrastructure, and traffic is encrypted in transit. Access to stored data is limited to the operator. If a breach ever affects your data, we tell you and the relevant authorities within 72 hours of confirming it.

Keep your Google account secure. It's the only way into your PixQuill account.

▸ 7. Data Retention

Retention depends on the kind of data:

  • Account information: kept while your account is active, deleted within 90 days of account deletion
  • Library content: kept while your account is active. Deleting an upload or result removes it from the library right away, and leftover file copies aren't used for anything after that
  • Support correspondence: 24 months, then deleted
  • Security logs: 12 months, then deleted
  • Transaction records: kept as long as tax and accounting rules require, typically 7 years

▸ 8. Your Data Rights

Write to support@pixquill.com (backup: koboshi1989@gmail.com) to use any of these. We answer within 30 days at the latest, usually within two business days. If you're in the EU or UK and something still isn't right, you can complain to your local data protection authority.

  • Know what personal data we hold about you and how it's used
  • Get a copy of your data
  • Correct data that's wrong
  • Delete your account and its data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Object to or restrict processing
  • Withdraw consent where processing rests on consent

▸ 9. Marketing & Opt-Out

We don't send marketing email, so there's nothing to unsubscribe from. The only messages you'll get from us are service notices: receipts, billing issues, security alerts, and policy changes. Those are part of the service and stay on.

▸ 10. International Data Transfers

Rendering happens abroad: uploads and prompts are sent to the servers of our model providers. That includes Volcano Engine, which can involve mainland China, and kie.ai together with the model providers behind it, whose servers can be located in other countries. Using the tools means your content travels to those places for processing.

Every provider in the chain handles data under its own data processing terms, with contractual safeguards such as standard contractual clauses where the law requires them, and receives only the data its job requires.

▸ 11. Children's Privacy

PixQuill is not for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect data from children, and an account found to belong to someone under 18 gets closed and its data deleted. If you believe your child has given us information, contact us and we'll remove it.

▸ 12. Third-Party Links & Services

Pages on PixQuill may link to third-party sites or services. This policy covers only what we collect ourselves, and we're not responsible for how third parties handle data. Check their policies before using their services.

▸ 13. Policy Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the new version is posted here with a new revision date, at least 14 days before significant changes take effect. Using the service after that means you accept the update.
